The author Ernest Hemingway was a very talented and interesting author.  In his novella, The Old Man and the Sea, we meet a man by the name of Santiago.  The interesting notion behind the relationship between Hemingway and Santiago is that truth is not far from the fictional story of a Cuban fisherman trapped in the Gulf of Mexico trying to catch the fish of his life.  The story is based upon real people, events, and serves as a distinct introduction to a rich and turbulent culture.
